Contains: Transport list: 12th Osttransport to the Warsaw Ghetto (Wave 12), 04/02/1942.
The file cover erroneously states that the deportation went to Trawniki near Lublin. However, it is considered certain that the deportation train, which left Berlin on April 2, 1942, was diverted to the Warsaw Ghetto. The list of the Berlin Gestapo includes 659 names, 16 of which have been deleted. In addition to the 643 Jews from Berlin, a large number of Jews from the administrative district of Frankfurt/Oder were deported to the Warsaw Ghetto. The deportation train also included eight residents of the so-called “Dauerheim für jüdische Schwachsinnige” in Berlin-Weißensee. The term "Schwachsinnige" (“idiots”) used on the list for residents of a psychiatric institution was cited as the reason for their persecution - the deportation of the five women and three men took place in the context of the so-called "T4 actions".
