Scope and content

The documents deal with the follwing topics: procedure for searching persons and analysis of documentation of German offices; working relations of CDPX and UNRRA, UNRRA and voluntary relief organizations, UNRRA and the Red Cross, CDPX and national search bureaux; establishment of the Central Records Office and the Central Tracing Bureau; activity reports; care for unaccompanied children; search for relatives of DPs in assembly centers; evacuation of sick DPs to Sweden; prominent personalities who were released from concentration camps; mail between DP-camps and from DP-camps to other countries.

Additionally, there are enquiries for citizens of various nationalities (Chinese, Dutch, Hungarians, Iranians, Latin-Americans, Portuguese, Romanians, Ukrainians) which were sent through diplomatic or other official channels.
Furthermore, there are documents about persons claiming US citizenship.
