The microfilms contain files of NKWD and different index cards for the political cleansing procedure. The files contain documents issued by German and Romanian public authorities, e.g. identification cards for Soviet Prisoners Of War, identification cards for persons who were considered German, preliminary identification cards for Black Sea Germans, work identification cards or registration cards, from 1941 through1945. Additionally, documents created by former German employers and by Allied Forces immediately after the war, e.g. confirmations of employment and registration cards for Displaced Persons, are contained in the files. Furthermore, the microfilms contain a German index of identification cards of Soviet Prisoners of War (both for camps and military hospitals) coming in two different formats, the larger featuring a photo, as well as a Russian index for repatriated persons.
