Contains:
Four files of the Stapoleitstelle Duesseldorf concerning the organization and realization of the deportations of Jews from the Gestapo area of Duesseldorf to Izbica, Sobibor and Theresienstadt (1941-1943).

Among them are
I) Orders and regulations of the RSHA to the Stapo and reports of the Stapo control center Duesseldorf to the RSHA.

II) Orders of the Stapoleitstelle Duesseldorf to Gestapo field offices and local authorities, as well as reports and statistical evaluations concerning the Jewish population, addressed to the Stapoleitstelle Duesseldorf.

III) Statements on the costs of the deportations.

IV) Correspondence and guidelines concerning the confiscation of Jewish property.

V) Medical certificates concerning individuals who were scheduled for deportation.

VI) Gestapo reports and correspondence concerning suicides or escape of Jews before their deportation.

VII) Correspondence, explanations and instructions of, among others, the Reich Minister of the Interior regarding the determination of so-called "hostility to the people and the state" of the deportees. This procedure created a 'legal' basis for confiscating the assets of deported Jews who were stateless or had Polish or non-German citizenship. The same procedure was followed when Jews of German nationality committed suicide or fled before their deportation without having signed a so-called declaration of assets ("Vermögenserklärung"). Likewise, the deportees to Theresienstadt were accused of tendencies hostile to the people and the state, since "Bohemia and Moravia" did not belong to foreign countries. By this detour, the assets could be confiscated in all cases in favor of the Nazi state (see, among others, Doc ID 82164738; 82164743; Doc ID 82164780).
