Scope and content

This collection contains a multitude of various documents on the internment of persecuted persons - as a rule outside concentration camps. Aside from places of detention, the prisons concerned are labour reform camps, Gestapo camps, early concentration camps as well as camps for forced labourers, work houses and similar institutes of persecution. The documents range from prisoners files, index cards and entry, leave, patients and death registers as well as correspondence of the prisons, files and correspondence of Gestapo offices, courts and criminal prosecution offices to correspondence of prisoners with relatives and the German Red Cross, to death certificates and registers on executions and murder. A part of the documents are post-war compilations.
