Scope and content

This archive unit contains photographs of people who have stayed in the Umwandererzentralstelle Litzmannstadt. The photographs were taken uniformly in a certain way, each person was photographed with his prisoner number in a series frontally, laterally and in three-quarter profile. The persons are mainly children and women. There are often siblings or whole families among the pictures. The secured information about the persons is limited to first and last name, date of birth and prisoner numbers. Furthermore, the inventory contains bizarre picture series of medical examinations/samples, group shots and portraits.
