Scope and content
The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) was an international relief agency founded in 1943 with headquarters in New York, included in the United Nations (UN) in 1945, and operating until 1947. Its purpose was to the administration of measures for the relief of victims of war in any area under the control of the United Nations. The Germany Mission cooperated with other private and public organizations in helping Displaced Persons return to their home countries in Europe in 1945-46. Collection consist of correspondence, bulletins, circulars, reports, cables and other records produced by the UNRRA Germany Mission pertaining tracing of missing people, prisoners of war and internees from Nazi camps.
