Scope and content

The collection consists of several sub-series arranged by thematic subjects. Main topic is the assistance to Jews people in the occupied countries and in the areas where they had taken refuge to escape Nazi persecution. Records are sub-divided by country or geographic area and embrace several topics, such as emigration, transportation, medication and food parcels, financial budget, visit to camps, ghettos and imprisonment places, etc. Majority of records consist of correspondence of the ICRC with national or city delegations of the Red Cross, other private or public organizations and private persons to provide actions in favour of Jews.
