Scope and content

The index consists of cards containing information about persons- who wished to emigrate or emigrated to various states in Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia, or Australia in the postwar years. The AJDC Emigration Service recorded name and first names of the applicant, gender, current address, date and place of birth, current and former nationality, current and former occupation, the destination of the emigration and accompanying persons, e.g. spouses or children, as well as file references and notes of the emigration bureau.
